Rush's tour books are always a prized possession at their amazing concerts. This particular one from the Vapor Trails tour is definitely one of their best, if not their finest. The tourbook contains some of the best photography I have seen in any of their books to date and I have every one leading back to the Moving Pictures tour in 1981.
As per RUSH's formula, the tourbook opens with Neil's 3 page description detailing how the making of Vapor Trails came together...after a 5 year absence which found major changes in the lives of each band member; from Geddy and Alex's solo projects, to Neil's tragic loss of his daughter and wife.
The torch then gets ceremoniously passed to each band member to write their piece to describe their 'tools of the trade' that they were/are using at the time. This part itself is a must for die-hard RUSH collectors to have in their collection.
The Vapor Trails tour was also the tour that spawned Rush's 'RUSH IN RIO', where the last gig of the tour was performed in South America for the first ever time to a rowdy audience of 40,000 strong.
The tour book is as polished as RUSH's music itself. Printed on high quality gloss cover and text stock with high whiteness to make the exceptional photos leap off the page. The book is 28 pages in length containing a myriad of shots of the boys; including set up studio images and of course, ultra sharp concert photos showcasing the boys at their best.
